Wargames Show Bovington - 4th and 5th July 2009
Visiting Battlegroup South's Wargames Show at The Tank Museum, Bovington, Dorset presents wargaming amongst Tanks and other exhibits, and is a wonderful opportunity to attend a premier event within the setting of the best collection of AFVs in the world.
The Tank Museum is newly extended with the additional buildings open since April this year. This is our 11th year at this venue, so visit us now before you miss your chance!

The admision ticket entitles you to return to the museum at any time within 12 months after purchase, with the exception of Special Events. The museum will be open 10 to 5pm on both days.
Painting Competiton Sponsored by Valiant Miniatures
This year we have re-introduced our painting competition which is sponsored by Valiant Miniatures. All attendees are invited to submit painted miniatures from the Valiant plastic ranges in form of single or double figure bases, artillery bases
(3 figures) or units of 5 bases (3 for artillery). A minimum of 5x Valiant Miniatures boxed sets will be awarded to the winner, and at least a 1st and 2nd placed BGS Trophy will be presented on the Saturday night, or forwarded by post. Please note: it is unlikely that there will be any categories. We apologise for the fact there will not be a separate children's category, but a child may still enter the competition. Please take your entries to the Chiltern Miniatures stand on the Saturday morning before 2pm! +++STOP PRESS+++Colin Rumford of both Valiant Miniatures and Rapid Fire! has donated a couple of his books for use as additional prizes for the above competition!

If you are a trader wishing to attend our show, please contact us using Richard's email below. We are now closed to all applications from gamers, sorry. Just to be clear then we have closed the books on booking in games (individuals or gaming clubs). However, ALL gamers are welcome to attend.

A unisex shower block containing individual cubicles has now been confirmed by Richard, subject to contractors delivering them - there will be no extra charge to use this convenience!
UPDATED 4th June -If you do not book your camping pitches before the event, please note you will be charged £15 PER ADULT on the day, without exception - children go free!
School Leaving age is increasing to 18 soon, but most 16 yr olds are still in full-time education these days. If a youth is 16 or 17, we will allow them to camp free with a pitch-paying parent. If they have their own tent they should book a £15 pitch of their own!
 Online camping booking will now close on Wednesday 9pm- 1st July, as some people have requested more time to book. We can't extend this further because we will be all at Bovington, setting up camp!
Camping will be £15 each if you do not book in advance!
Onsite Catering
A burger van will be in attendance on the Friday evening (menu), and the BGS Licensed Bar will be open as usual.
The burger/breakfast van (menu), will be open early Saturday morning, but will NOT be open in the evening. Saturday Night Presentation(£600+ of prizes) and Quiz This year, sees the return of the BGS bar-b-q, and small buffet, menu will be posted up here as soon as possible... and yes, we will have the Pig Roast and BGS Licensed Bar. We are also extremely pleased to announce that the ever-popular Chris Nelson (BGS Security and Risk Assessment) is back this year to present our Saturday night entertainment, so watch out :) The breakfast van (menu), will be serving on the Sunday morning too. EntertainmentOn the Saturday evening, we have a demonstration of 'A Twist of Fate', a fortune telling board game... whatever next, pass the beer someone!Bring and BuyBGS member Graham will be running our Bring and Buy again this year suported by other 'red shirts'.
